CHOICE 1

1. The two disciples of John the Baptist asked Christ if He was the Savior. If I had been with those two men, I would have told John that Jesus was performing all kinds of incredible miracles among the people. I would explain about Christ causing the lame and paralyzed people to walk, giving the blind their sight and raising people from the dead.

2.  John wanted his disciples to go to Christ because they were having a hard time detaching themselves from John. John already knew that Jesus Christ was the savior- he didn't need his disciples to tell him that.  He wanted his disciples to recognize the truth of what he had been teaching for so long about Jesus.

3. Jesus describes John as the greatest prophet ever born. Joseph Smith gave the following 3 reasons why John the Baptist is considered among the greatest prophets: 1. He was sent to prepare the way for Christ  2. He had the important mission of baptizing Jesus Christ 3. He was the only legal administrator in the affairs of the kingdom on earth, and held the keys of power.

4. This verse shows John's humility. He didn't want people to think he was as great as Jesus Christ. He knew his power and influence needed to decrease and that Jesus Christ's needed to increase. We can apply a similar attitude in our lives by giving all credit and glory to God. Without Him we would be nothing, and we should always acknowledge Him in everything!
