The date for this month was to go to a bookstore with mommy and buy a treat afterwards. I'm really glad we decided to do these monthly dates because the kids get such a kick out of it and it's nice to spend some one-on-one time with them. I went to the Time Out For Women conference in Long Beach this last weekend and one of the things that really stuck out to me was when Hilary Weeks said that we will know our children as adults in eternity. Right now is the only time we will know them as children. This short moment in time is the only time we will ever know them as children!!! That hit me. I don't want to wish these years away even though they can be so hard. I need to be better about really enjoying them, and I think these dates help!
I found a used bookstore at the mall and they sell all the children's books for only $1.00! It was a great way to make the date cheap, but still fun!
I think Damon would have been completely satisfied if I had just taken him on an escalator riding date. I let him ride up and down it a few times and that made his day!
Valerie picked a ring pop for her treat. That's the only kind of jewelry she likes.

So cute! I love that you took Valerie's ring pop picture in front of the jewelry case. :)
Thanks for sharing- your thoughts as well as the pictures! Keep it up. . .
I LOVE your hair color Michelle. You are too cute! It's so true, our children will never be children again. I need to relish it more. I love your one-on-one date idea.
I loved that part of Hilary's talk too!! I love that you do monthly dates. I try and am not always successful, you're such a good mom!
Thanks for that Michelle, I have been having a hard time lately with my kids and sometimes I know that and it hurts but sometimes they just wanna be away from me because I am always upset with them for not listening, so Thank You for this inspirational post
