Damon is in first grade this year. He has been in tears every morning when I drop him off, and I have finally figured out why he's been so sad. He hates school. He says it's too long and too boring. In fact, he even told his teacher one day that he wanted to go home because he hates school. (I had to laugh at that one....pretty brave to tell your teacher you hate school) He says the only thing he likes about school is recess. Damon just wants to play all day long. Put him in a room with some action figures, and he's happy. Let him run outside, and he's happy. Put him in a classroom where he has to sit still and learn, and he's in tears. It's starting to get a little better because he is realizing he has no choice. :) Here is my handsome man on the first day of school!
Kyle is enjoying 3rd grade so far. He is in the gate class and has a wonderful teacher who I am really happy with. He is being more challenged this year and has a lot of good friends. Things are looking pretty good for him right now!
They weren't really this excited about the first day of school, but it made for a cute picture
Once we got to the school, Kyle ran off to his line and went straight to class without looking back at us. Damon, on the other hand, had a death-grip on my hand and wanted me to walk him into his classroom. I love that Damon's not afraid to show affection to me in front of his friends. The other day I was helping in his classroom and when it was time for me to leave, he ran up to me and gave me a big hug and kiss on the lips! I loved it. :)
Little Miss Val started preschool! She goes 2 days a week, and is having a lot of fun. On the first day of preschool she cried for a little while and I had to sit down with her and comfort her until she was okay with me leaving. Ever since then she's been fine! She told me on the drive to preschool, "When you drop me off at preschool you're not gonna have none kids at home!" I asked her what I should do while I'm all alone. She told me, "You can clean the house." It has been kind of nice to have a couple days a week where I can get some things done uninterrupted, but next year when she goes to full day school I might have an emotional breakdown.
Valerie's preschool teacher has already learned that Valerie is not the girliest girl on the planet. Valerie had been sitting quietly so Miss Erin told her she could pick out a sticker for being a good example to the other kids. Miss Erin held out a glittery princess sticker and asked Valerie if she wanted that one. Valerie immediately said "No. I'll take a spiderman sticker."

SUUUUUPER cute pictures! Damon looks so old!
How'd you get Valerie into that skirt? Maybe she has a little bit of girlyness in her ;) So fun!!
So cute. Damon is so sweet, are you sure he's your child? haha
Damon is almost as tall as Kyle! Holy smokes! Valerie is awesome, and kind of scary in an adorable sort of way. I'm totally copying your signs - my kids start school this week!
Loved the photos. Your kids are adorable Michelle.
