March Madness

We pretty much went non-stop the entire month of March, so here are some of the highlights:

Valerie had her first dentist appointment. I was really nervous about how she would react but she did so good! She stayed really calm and happy the whole time.

I had some shopping to do out near Darryl's work so I thought it would be fun to meet up with him for a minute so Valerie could see him in his uniform and check out his police car. She thought it was pretty cool and cried the whole drive home that she missed daddy and wanted to go back to his work. :)

Kyle had his annual eye check-up and his eyes have gotten so much better! The doctor said that because we caught his vision problems at such a young age and had him wearing glasses while his eyes were still developing, his brain has corrected his eyes during the development process! His prescription is not nearly as strong now and the doctor thinks that by next year Kyle will no longer need glasses!

We took a trip to Sea World and had a great time

Damon got to go on his first field trip to the Hidden Valley Nature Center and of course I had to go as a chaperone. :)

Damon with all his kindergarten buddies

Valerie had her very first sleepover away from home with her BFF Emma. I was really hesitant to let her do it, but she was such a big girl about it and did so well without me. These two girls look completely opposite, but they are two peas in a pod. They are so cute together!

Darryl and I decided we want to start taking the kids on monthly dates. We rotate months and each kid gets a turn to go out with one of us and do something special. March was Darryl's turn and the date for the month was to go to the movies and get a treat. Each kid got to go on their own special date with daddy and they loved it!

Valerie had to bring her care bear, and the care bear needed to be buckled up and wearing sunglasses just like her.

Kyle got an award at school for language arts. His teacher said he always uses great detail in his writing assignments.

For St. Patrick's Day I hosted a "pot of gold" hunt at my house for all the little ones in my ward. It turned out to be a lot of fun!

All the kids who came

The "green" treat table. Everyone was so creative! We had lucky charms, green rice crispy treats, rainbow fruit, and more. It was great!

The kids had to follow clues around the yard to help them find this pot of gold

I know, my outfit is a little ridiculous, but it was fun

I found this huge green pot at Target and filled it with Capri Suns for the kids

Darryl built a sandbox for the kids and Valerie was right by his side, barefoot in the dirt, helping him.

And last but not least, Valerie became a sunbeam in January! It's crazy to think that she is officially in primary now....it makes her seem so much older :(

You are having way too much fun doing this mother thing- maybe I should get you some animals to take care of, or give you some yard work to do. . .:) Love all your pictures, especially the one with Valerie & her care bear! Way to go Kyle for being so diligent in wearing his glasses- looks like it will pay off!

I thought for sure mom would say something about Kyle with his hat on backwards. haha

That pic of Darryl & Valerie at the police station is so so cute! Yay for Kyle not needing glasses! Not that he doesn't look fabulous in them, but yay! :)
