Grandma Hicken

My grandma passed away on March 26th. She was 89 years old. She was my last living grandparent. On a side note, she was the one who discovered I had scoliosis when I was 12! My siblings and I all drove up to Utah together for the funeral. My grandma wanted my sisters and I to sing at her funeral, so we sang I Need Thee Every Hour. It was hard to sing without crying, but I think we did pretty good considering the circumstances!
When I was around 9 or 10 years old, my grandma was at our house visiting. I can remember getting really mad at her about something and with lots of attitude yelling at her "You don't even like me!!" She calmly responded, "You're right Michelle. I don't like you, I love you." For some reason I have never forgotten that. It was something so simple, but it has stuck in my head all these years. I never had to wonder if she loved me. Here are some pictures of my quick weekend trip to Utah for the funeral.

Almost all of the cousins on the Hicken side

Although it was a sad event that brought us all together, it was fun to be with all of my siblings since that doesn't happen very often!
