BASKETBALL 2012

The boys just finished their basketball season at the Orange Terrace Community Center. Their team name was the Orange Terrace Lakers. They played in the 6-7 year old division, so we were able to get them both on the same team since Damon is 6 and Kyle is 7. Having them on the same team made practices and games so easy, so I set aside my worries that there might be some competition issues between them. Luckily it wasn't really an issue. (Although they did end up in a fight every single time they would go in the backyard to practice) :)

It was very entertaining to see how different they were on the court. Damon was very chill...just going with the flow and running around not taking the game too seriously. Kyle was intense...competitive...driven....and had to be wherever the ball was at all times. They are only 17 months apart, but their personalities are worlds apart. They both did great and had lots of fun.

Warming up at practice....Go Lauritzen Boys!!!

Damon getting ready to shoot!

Kyle loved basketball. In fact, he loved it so much he told me he wants to play basketball year round and forget about ever playing any other sport ever again.

We had a GREAT coach...him and his wife planned a pretty awesome end-of-the-season celebration. There was tons of food, a jumper for the kids, and they even hired a clown for entertainment!

The clown did face painting, and Kyle and Damon's favorite cheerleader got to go first! She was a little nervous at first, so Kyle sat down and put her on his lap. He sat there with her the whole time. She's lucky to have such nice big brothers who are always looking out for her!

This is by far the best trophy picture I've ever taken... haha

I love how Kyle is directly above Damon in the team picture

We have a one-month break and then we'll be starting swim.....

Way cool that they could be on the same team! The face painting looks great! Kyle reminds me of one of the mean skeleton guys on Karate kid.

How fun for them- and how wonderful that they have such great parents to help them develop their talents and keep active!
