Parade of Cars

Last week all the kindergarteners at Kyle's school had to make their own cars out of cardboard boxes for a "transportation parade." I'm not gonna lie, at first I was super annoyed that they would assign such a time consuming project that only the parents would be able to do. Kyle helped a little here and there, but it was mostly a dad project. Here are the two of them workin on it together. Of course Kyle chose a police car!

Kyle was waiting for the parade to begin!

When all was said and done, I could tell it was something all the kids really enjoyed...so I guess it was worth all the time it took it to put it all together. The question now is, what do we do with the darn thing? My suggestion was that we should save it until Damon's in kindergarten so he can use it. Darryl thinks that's ghetto. haha:)

Speaking of super annoyed... Darryl's face says exactly that in the 1st picture. Leave it to a dad to create something that DOPE though! And I won't tell you how many projects I have stored away hoping that Gavin gets the same teachers Chase has had.

That thing turned out really cute! I would let the kids play with it till you can trash it. That's just because then I would have a good reason to throw it away :) I hate keeping stuff for long periods of time.

You'll probably have to make another one anyway. My guess it Damon will want "his own special" car. Kids never want to be helpful by reusing old projects. :) BTW - I would be annoyed too.

Where did Darryl come up with "Seneca" police? It was obvious that not one car was made just by a child! Well, at least Kyle had fun! (Glad we are done with such projects). . .

Last year when Norman was in it I put in all that work to make him a firetruck and then we go to watch the parade and he gets nervouse and throws up and does not walk in it. I was so disappointed that they did not get to see that dumb truck I put so much time into.

Looks cool! Maybe you could make it a punishment box and the kids could sit in it for timeout.:)

What a fun idea! I saw a craft in a magazine turning a box into a firetruck. I keep meaning to do that for Cody but then I keep forgetting.
