It's Great To Be 8!

The lack of updating my blog is due to our crazy swim schedule and all the events that occur when you have a child turn 8!

 Darryl and I don't typically throw big birthday parties for our kids, but turning 8 is a big deal around here. Kyle wanted a sports-themed birthday party, so our backyard was the perfect place to host it. The kids were put into teams depending on what color wrist band they were given, and the games began! They rotated playing basketball, tetherball, and soccer. We invited cousins, school friends, and church friends. It was an easy party for me and a lot of fun for the kids.

 Here's the cupcakes I made. I stressed over these darn cupcakes because the orange frosting for the basketball was not the exact color I wanted it to be...haha Can you say perfectionist?

I was the referee :)
