Tinman Triathlon

I'd like to say I recently completed a REAL triathlon, but not so much. Instead, we did a mini one. :) The Riverside Stake holds an annual Tinman, which consists of a swim, 3 mile run, and 10 mile bike ride. Our whole family signed up for the run and the bike ride. Darryl was nice enough to jog with the kids pushing the stroller and let me do the run kid-free. I finished it in 28 minutes, which is a 3 minute improvement from the last 5K I did, so I was happy with that! Damon jogged the ENTIRE 3 miles, and Kyle and Valerie took turns getting in and out of the stroller. They all ran through the finish line and I didn't have my camera so I didn't get to capture the moment, but it was fun to see them get so serious about finishing strong. Kyle and Damon rode their bikes for the entire 10 miles and they did really well. The kids can't wait to do it again next year! They were a little upset with me that I didn't sign them up for the swim portion, but it started really early in the morning and I wasn't up for that. I'll be a better mom next time and sign them up for all 3 events. :) It was funny because I ran into my little brother there! Neither of us had any idea the other one was doing it. The kids love Uncle Doug so that was fun to have him there. Valerie definitely needed to go potty when we took this picture. :)

Those are the kind of events that make memories, and it makes me so happy you do them! What in the world was Doug doing up at the Riverside Stake?

I was wondering if you were going to post about this. Mom - Chris Johnston invited me, it was his brother that was running the event.
