*Luke 16: 1-12 The parable of the unjust steward was given to teach the care with which the saints of God should approach the task of preparing for their eternal future. Someday our earthly riches will mean nothing. What is most important are the relationships we have nurtured and the people we have loved. We should be thinking of our eternal future, not just the here and now.
*Luke 16:19-31The parable of the rich man and Lazarus was given to teach us that due to the Savior’s visit to the spirit world, he bridged the gulf between paradise and hell, making it possible for the spirits in prison to receive the message of the gospel. We learn from this parable that the gospel is preached in all parts of the spirit world. Those who would have accepted the gospel in this life are given the chance to do so after they die.
*Luke 17:11-19 The parable of the ten lepers teaches us the importance of exercising faith and showing gratitude to the Savior for all He does for us. The fact that gratitude was shown by a Samaritan was evidence that all men are acceptable to the Lord. The Jews believed they were superior and a chosen race and this parable showed that the gospel would be taken to all people and races.
*Luke 18:1-8 The parable of the unjust judge was given to teach us that we should always pray to God- and that if we do so He will help us and answer us.
*Luke 18:9-14 The parable of the Pharisee and the publican teaches us to be humble. If we are righteous yet prideful it will do us no good. Being self-righteous does not assure us a place with God
