2011 Summer Swim Team

We decided to sign the boys up for the summer swim team through the Riverside Aquatics Association. We had already tried soccer and baseball, and we wanted to try something new. I wasn't sure how the boys would like it, but it was a huge hit! It was a busy and sometimes stressful 4 months, (okay maybe the whole time was stressful) but it was worth every minute and it's something we hope to have the kids do every summer.

It was really fun for the kids to swim with a bunch of their cousins. Here they all are chillin' together at one of the swim meets.

At the end of the season we signed the boys up for the prelims to see if they could make it to the finals. Both of them did! They had to place in the top 8 in order to make it to the finals. Kyle ended up getting 3rd in backstroke and 2nd in butterfly. Swim was really his thing! Damon barely made it by the skin of his teeth....he got 8th in freestyle. :) It was really fun for me to watch them become such strong swimmers and I was so proud of how well they did.  Hurray for summer swim!
